Hans Christian yachts have come in many types and sizes and the 38T is a real traditional yacht, overbuilt to guarantee safe and comfortable cruising. "Wahkuna" is a 1981 Hans Christian 38T traditional cutter, hull number 73 registered in Canada. She was designed by Robert Perry and built by Anderson Yachts Ltd in Taipei, Taiwan. Great as an off shore sailboat, she's also the perfect family weekender.
This Hans Christian is well maintained and comes with all her manuals. Originally the boat was fitted with teak decks but these were removed and replaced with painted decks. Shower was re-tiled and a new head installed. In the galley a new ENO 3 burner with oven cooker plus a new low consumption Isotherm fridge were installed. Full electronics, watermaker, new International “Micron 350” antifouling. The inside of the boat was also entirely revarnished and painted, her solid teak interior throughout giving her a rich traditional feel.

Propulsion
Below decks and full forward is a stateroom with chain locker and full V berth. Moving aft is a port side ensuite head with a manual toilet, stainless steel sink, and stand up shower. Directly across to starboard there are 2 hanging lockers. Continuing aft to the salon there is a portside U shaped settee with folding dining table. Directly across to starboard there is a straight settee. Continuing aft to starboard is a large storage area. There is a portside U shaped galley with a double stainless steel sink, top loading refrigerator, 3 burner marine propane stove with oven and adequate storage and working surface. Continuing aft is a starboard side navigation station with seating and instruments. Across to the portside is a stateroom with a double berth. There is a centerline companionway leading to the sailing cockpit. The engine room is located beneath the galley sink area.
The boat was originally wired for 110 volts and when brought to Europe a 5 KVA 240 to 110 volt step down transformer was installed. Both mains voltages are available onboard.

The engine hours are currently 153 and the installation was undertaken by Le Chantier Naval du Crapaud, Bretagne, France. There are two 170 litre diesel tanks. In addition there is a 6KVA diesel generator consisting of a Kubota Z482E engine with its own 170 litre tank. Diesel from this tank is also used to power a heater with ducting throughout the boat. In addition a 80 Litres per hour water maker is also fitted. There are two 170 litre water tanks.
New International “Micron 350” antifouling was applied this year and during Covid in 2020 the opportunity was taken to repaint the hull and the deck.
The standing rigging is stainless steel wire to bronze turnbuckles to stainless steel blocks last renewed in 2012 by her previous, and only, owner just prior to sale to her present owner. Her head sail was renewed in 2022 by Jeckells (England) and her main and stay sails were made by Lee (California) in 2012.
